Down in the green wood

The theme of this week’s challenge over at Papercraft Star is green. As I’ve done quite a few St Patrick’s Day/Luck  themed pieces in green I decided that I would go down a slightly different route this time.

P1030322 You can probably guess that this has been made using Dylusions inks and stamps. The backgrounds were created using yellow and green Dylusions inks. I used the toadstool stamp with Pine Needless distress ink and then painted the image with more Dylusions. The leafy fronds were stamped in Mowed Lawn and I used a Tim Holtz flowery foilage stamp and more Pine Needles distress ink all around the toadstools. I used a white gel pen for the toadstools’ spots and to create highlights on the leaves and foilage. I wasn’t happy until I’d added a few bees. I created layers using some dark green card, which looks black in the photographs.

I  added some satin green ribbon and a bow, then punched out some leafy fronds using my Martha Stewart punch and arranged these with buttons and glittery flowers.

The finishing touch was to add a few dew drops.

Now I probably wouldn’t have thought of creating this using green, but I’m really glad I did – the colour seems to suit this particular collection of stamps.

You might also like to buzz over to Mrs Beez Stampin to take a look at a card I’ve made using a completely different colour palette – scrummy Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit.

Is it really only Wednesday??
